This is the kick in the pants that I've needed to get many added pounds off.
I turn 50 this year and my goal is never to see 160 again. If I weigh 159 the rest of my life, that's fine with me. I have no excuses for not working out. I have free access to the gym at my work, and live so close to wonderful hiking. My plan is 6 days of working out for an hour, limiting sweets, watching portion sizes, and trying to substitute healthy snacks, instead of my usual chocolate. Luckily I don't like soda, so that isn't a temptation, but ice cream more than makes up for it!
I lost weight on the Suzanne Somers diet a few years ago and felt great, but I couldn't keep that restrictive diet going, so the pounds crept back on. Sunday is the worst day for poor eating, therefore I will weigh in every Friday.
Lot's of luck to my fellow losers!
We have tried this before, we will try it again - until we get it right.

Crammin' For The Famine...
Maybe not such a great idea!! :(
Coke was on sale around Thanksgiving - well, ALL soda's were - but I love Coke and/or Pepsi so I stocked up! Now, I have been trying to get rid of it all (read: drink every last delicious drop) before Biggest Loser 2012 starts! The last couple of nights I've had pinching pains... in my gut and a dull ache in my lower back and it's been so bad that I haven't slept well. I have a Doctors appointment today because I'm 90% sure I have a bladder and/or kidney infection from all the blasted soda!!
Well, I googled "What happens to your body when you drink a soda?" and it brought up this interesting article and it is talking specifically about Coca-Cola. I think I'm the only one (so far, unless Paula joins in the next couple of weeks) who struggles with soda/caffeine addiction, but it's great info on how our bodies "cope" with the crap we shove in there.
You would think after reading that and getting an infection of SOME kind, I would not really want to drink a Coke any more. You would be wrong. I'm drinking one now. I just can't let them go to waste!! (And I love the flavor!!)
Less than TWO WEEKS!!! I'm getting really excited! I signed up for the gym and everything! (Such a HUGE step!)
